Kittrell Headed for Marines
Matthew Kittrell, Class of 2010, thought he wanted to go to Clemson and he
even received an early acceptance letter to the university his junior year!
Instead the senior is putting college on the back burner and is joining the
Marines with an MOS of Security Forces dealing with Top Secret Security.
After one year, he plans to apply for the MESAP which will cover the cost of
college, plus living expenses. He doess't know where he wants to go to
college yet, but after college, he will go to OCS at the Quantico Marine
Base. Good luck Matthew and our prayers go out to all of our former
Crusaders serving our country. Presently in the US: Logan Todd, David Stone,
Casey Cousins and Chad Pardue. In Afghanistan: Jimmy Poole.

100th Day of School The 2009-2010 school year is flying by! January
26th was the 100th day of school and the elementary students celebrated this day
with games and activities. The elementary students all ate 100 Grand Bars, the
3rd graders wrote about what they would do if they had $100. The 1st graders
wrote about 100 treasures they had from God. The 2nd grade made a 100th Day Gorp
out of 100 pieces of various candy and cereal. They also wrote about having $100
and ate cookies in the shape of 100's. They rolled dice 100 times and estimated
the most frequently rolled number. They added things to 100 and also colored a
picture of 100 filled with different objects. For the elementary classes, the
100th day of school was an opportunity to have a day of fun, interactive
learning. Keep up the good work everyone so we can have a great rest of the
year!
